I absolutely agree with this article. I've been very active on LinkedIn over the past 6 months and I have found that the people there don't really like to share. I did a study a while back that indicated that almost I believe 46% of LinkedIn people are dead weight. Meaning they are non-responsive, don't share and have joined linkedin to build their professional business profiles. If you're outside of that profile they really don't want anything to do with you. Given how much LinkedIn has grown over the last 10 years, I was rather surprised by the statistics I came across. However, it did answer a question for me that many are just stuff-shirts.

I just started a discussion group on LinkedIn called Wobblee Network Connection because I was reaching out to people in LinkedIn and thinking they'd be a resource to help me with a professional matter but found my selection was limited. LinkedIn is a great resource but the people aren't necessarily sociable. The group I create this week I'm finding that people are looking to hear about other people's experiences because storytelling is a way to share information and potentially help to eMentor others.

Your article confirms why I started this group. I'd like to see a social media sites that really serves to help people through the sharing of information, resources and above all personal experiences. Love the title of this article and was rather thankful and surprised at the bluntness although 100% accurate. Thank you for sharing your insightfulness based on your own personal experiences.
