That's a good point. As long as the content is worthwhile and "for the betterment of mankind" I'm alright with it. Haha, I'm hoping I can build up more of a social presence before Author Rank gets rolled out. I can't seem get the grasp of Twitter so far, having better luck with Google+ though.

I suppose companies could keep the Ghost blog going by rubber stamping the CEO's signature on posts crafted by others. We can't really do anything about that. As long as its good, share-worthy content I suppose it doesn't matter that much. So Social Signals to the rescue?

That's a good point, I hadn't considered authorship and how it might influence PR. It will be a tough pill to swallow for many, but if author rank gets released soon it could be the carrot at the end of the stick.I particularly liked your mention of how" The anonymous content writer is dead, gone, finished." I think this will be a major sticking point for many corporations who will be reluctant to hand over the reigns to an individual. What might happen, and I hope it doesn't, is corporations making a Google+ profile for their CEO or other figurehead that is in fact run by a PR team of capable writers that can push out great content quickly, which may skew how author Rank/Authorship is viewed. This would give the corporation the benefit of authorship while maintaining control of its image. Thoughts?

A very good list. One omission I'd like to mention is one of corporate culture. Many traditional PR departments have tipped their toes into content marketing - speaking as the "company" rather than elevating individuals to feature-level as bloggers. Of course this is less compatible with authorship markup's grand scheme. I wrote a post on this shift here: http://www.buzzmaven.com/2012/12/authorship-corporate-voice.html
